Really hope someone's had luck with a similar issue. I injected Donkey Konga and DK 2 as VC games and launch them. I've got the GC adapter hooked up in Wii U mode along with a set of bongos.

They seem to work fine, but there's a slight lag between press and recognition, and it seems like it gets worse as the song goes along. I've got my HDMI in game mode to try to get around the worst of it. Never have a problem with other rhythm games on this TV.

There´s a reason Nintendo said that you can´t use all Wii-Controllers with WiiU. Only some are compatible.
The Bongos aren´t compatible, since they have a giant input-latency because they use usb.
And this is because the WiiU even has slow usb-access in vWii-mode (1.5 or 2.0 mbytes/second of usb-speed). ONLY if you could run it in normal Wii-mode (which currently doesn´t work, since vWii runs in WiiU-OS & thus fast usb-access is locked), it would run without input-latency...

That's interesting. I thought the GameCube Adapter only worked for Super Smash Brothers on the Wii U side. So you can connect up DK Bongos through it and they'll work with Donkey Konga as a virtual console injection on the Wii U side?

I've found if a game requires anything other than Wii remotes like USB dongles I've had to run vWii then the game disc or USB Loader GX to run the game in order to get the peripheral recognised.

It is a long time ago but when I used the bongas on vwii I did not noticed any lag when playing Donkey Konga (with nintendont obviously)

The bongas triggered my carpal tunnel syndrome though.... So they are gathering dust atm.
