Besides, most websites prevent people from brute forcing by locking your account if they get the password wrong too many times.

And don't forget, if you have a 10 letter password, depending on the site, it could only take 6 to crack it. That depends on if the site encrypts the rest of your password.

Like for Gawker Media like Kotaku, they encrypted only the first 8 letters.

2 lower case with the rest being capitals and numbers? Not to mention they're close together... sounds about right.

Believe me I only have to change this shit once a year. If it isn't broken don't fix it. Another example: G5;Fo3$r>. An absolutely evil password that a game of mine once assigned to me. I had nightmares for months.

besides Bruteforcers go in sequence, or random, and only test the most common possibilities first (last time I checked, mine isn't common). Which in my mind, both sequential and random have equal possibilities to find it.
