Homebrew is TronDS real or fake

Now that I've Googled it, it looks like you are correct, but yes, there is a game called Tron also. Sorry to cause confusion.

Sounds real, but from what I saw, it only supports homebrew atm.

I wouldn't trust it personally. The guy keeps the source code to himself, and Citra and 3dmoo are more reputable/have more reputable people behind them. It certainly could end up being a good emulator (No$GBA comes to mind), but at the moment I'd avoid it.

kindve what i was thinking, and part of the reason i was asking. hardly anyone knows about it and its closed source.

TronDS is real and IMO is the first legit piece of software that claims to be a 3DS emulator. Development seems to be behind the other two though.
