just running the fan control app after i have had the ps3 off for a bout a day

cpu show around 60-68 degrees

gpu show 40-42 degrees

fans sound like they are at like 85% speed

playing a game for about an hour the temps are

cpu 73-75 degrees
gpu 60 - 65 degrees or so

i turned down the fans a little to around 60%
and the temps went up maybe by 1 to 5 degrees that was only when playing games

i love this ps3 would hate for it to die anytime soon i did play the ps3 with loud fan for like a about 2hrs or so every couple of days for like a year or so with no problem

would one of those usb fans for the ps3 help to make the internal fan not so loud

also the ps3 dose not feel hot nor does the air coming out of the back

what can i do

yeah you would want to keep it below 70 degrees. Do a custom profile and set temp limit around 68 65 degrees so that it doesn'g go above that.

You running Sman or webman ? If so go in to settings by typing in the IP of your ps3 on your phone or pc and set dynamic fan control to 65. You can also do it from the ps3 through settings wich will open up an internet browser window
