Recently got a WD_BLACK SN770 SSD. i'm aware that it's below the recommended specifications for the PS5 by a very small margin (5,150MB/s), but i'm just curious on if it's going to be good enough or not for the PS5, slightly slower loading screens are fine with me, but i want peace of mind knowing this (hopefully) won't impact performance too much. If anyone here has any insight please lmk, thanks in advance :)

You should get one with higher read and write speed but you also need a heatsink. In the case of SN 850X it would work since it match the speed requirement, and there is one with a heatsink.

Ah alright, i have one of those lying around unused in my gaming pc believe it or not, if any problems arise with the ps5 with the current ssd I'll just swap it out. Both have heatsinks, dw. Thanks for the help :)

There are some picture to picture comparation of loading and in game performance on youtube. The lower transferrate from the SN770 is visible but in the end I don't think it will effect your own experience too much. I wouldn't buy a new SN770. But if it is there, I would use it.

I would have paid extra and taken something better.
unfortunately current events have my hands tied financially, i'm using the SSD and aside from write speeds leaving a bit to desire i'm perfectly happy, i just wanted to make sure that, y'know...it won't break.
