Extract your savedata using JK's Save Manager or another save extractor.
Open your savedata using Yo-kai Editor 1.

i tested and... yokai editor doesn't save any changes. YES i press "apply". YES i press "Save as..."

It worked for me just fine. For new items,to make them appear in your game you have to insert two values in #1 and #2 similar to the last item you have got in the game plus 1; for example if your last item is a Opal with two values of 123 for 1# and 124 for 2# if you insert a new item the values need to be 124 and 125.

If you can access Homebrew channel in both 3DS you can use SDVT to extract/inject saves

It boots to red screen every time. Unless it got an update. It does the same on pokemon RBY too

Try with the normal Save Manager. Sometimes it manages to work

Does someone have the yw1 save editor on their computers? Mine got deleted.
