Pyrofyr said:There are several Pokemon MMORPGs if you mean that by pokecommunity.
There is POL, Pokemon Online (Different from POL), Pokemon, Pokeconnect and others.
Most of them failed for the obvious reasons, however there were some great ones. POL for example was just amazing, but heh... to tell the truth Pokemon is mostly only fun on handhelds.
I'd love to see a Pokemon MMO that works from handhelds, it's quite possible, but it would just be annoying to make and maintaining connection makes almost every MMO handheld crap.
In other news I think that there are pokemon engines, but not one that allows you to use diamond/pearl and just edit the maps.
Some links you may find interesting if that's what your into:

No srsly though, they need to make one of these for DS, it would probably work out without too much problems. You'd have to have a decent connection, and there would need to be a way to keep offline and online content in check as well.

There is a map viewer but it has problems rendering some textures.
I have tried manipulating the map files in HEX and all I managed to do is to screw up a polygon. (Go me...yay...*sigh*)
It will get done, if not by the Pokecomunity, then by me when I tire of waiting and do it myself.
If I do make a map editor, expect it to be broken or lacking features such as;
Changing map music
Changing map tag/name
Changing map orientation
Changing map encounters
Changing map event/script/var amount and placement
and just about everything else that Advance map does except for CHANGING THE DAMN GRAPHICS.
If I made a map builder I would go in these phases:
1) Proper tile/graphic mapping
2) Proper collision editing
3) Proper map orientation
4) Proper Event placement
5) bleh (music, map tag/name, encounters, world map orientation, etc.)
Let's say that I started working on this now, doing it alone it would be at phase 2 by November or later.
*shrugs* well I guess that is how long it is going to take as there are far to many interested in using a tool as compared to the far few that are interested in creating one. (Aprox 528 or so including myself.)
*facepaws* I just remembered I don't know SQUAT when it comes to programing! Well it would take till next year because I would need to learn the most basic programing language to create a windows xp program (visual basic or something like that.)
