No, the Wii is not dead, it will never be dead, much like Dreamcast never died (at least for me) or neither did the PS2.

to my tv iv used my laptop, 360, ps3 and usb media box to play movies in various formats. the wii beats them all

According to the scene releases, no. It's bone dry, but it's life cycle isn't over yet.

Simply do a google search for Last Story or Xenobla in Europe and you will get dozen of sources you lazy.

Many others have mentioned that the wii is/not dead and/but nearing the end of its life cycle.

IMO, the will not die when the Wii U is launched, even then we still got the Homebrew scene; Media Players, Emulators, Homebrew games, etc. The Wii still got some games coming up, but you are (most likely) better off with a Wii U if you can life without homebrew and backups since the new and current Wii games SHOULD be playable on the Wii U, unless they are all backups.

If all your games are mostly backups then you would be better off with a regular softmodded Wii.
