So basically the R4 cant be broken by computer means? such as running a corrupt file? and i was wondering about the "Brick" virus. does it damage both the flashcart and ds?

Those were the two programs that contained the DS bricker. Of you run one of them on your DS, it won't work any more (FlashMe doesn't prevent this BTW, it just lets you restore the system after it's been bricked).

All the bricker does is overwrite the unprotected area of the DS's firmware. It doesn't do anything to the flashcart.

Is there any rom out there that can make the r4 stop reading sd cards or so?

The only way an R4 can stop reading SD cards is if you had an early model, which has a spring inside for ejecting the SD card, and the spring happens to get stuck or something. Though mine has a spring in it because I bought it over a year ago, I always pulled out the SD card instead of ejecting it because I never knew you could just push it in to eject it until a few weeks after I got the thing. I'm still pulling it out like what people have to do with the newer models just to be safe.
