Hi, I want to buy a Wii that can play Backup DVDs and I'm kind of confused with everything I read.
Serial number of one I found is LU1361, the Wii Drive Chip Database telle me that there's :
Your drive most likely has the following chipset:

  • There is a 25% chance the chipset is GC2R-D2A.
  • And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1).
  • And a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D4 on a smaller drive board.
  • Lastly, a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
Wich one of these is backup friendly?
I have a black Wii softmodded and play games via external HDD, but I want one to play backups too.

Thanks!
