Yeah I've been reading about partial hacking. The only thing Isee is that with PHA you can't run isos. So really not a big problem.

What do you mean, PHA? Like Partially Hackable? If so you're wrong. With 5.03 GEN-C installed of course you can run ISOs/CSOs.

Forget EVERYTHING all the others have said. Just take a look at this guide. It's got the most information, and will easily help you identify your PSP.

Where did you get it used from? If it's not hackable you could always claim that you couldn't get it to work or something and exchange it to get another one that you can hopefully hack.

I have a silver psp slim and had no issue hacking it. It was a Daxter slim.

1.Download the Official 5.03 update
2.Update to 5.03
3.Download ChickHEN
4.Copy the ChickHEN folder into your PICTURE folder in the root of your memory stick
5.Copy the supplied h.bin file to the root
6.Go to the ChickHEN folder in your PSP via picture menu
7.A green screen indicates it installed
8.Check in system information your firmware it should now be:5.03 ChickHEN R2
9.Download 5.03 GEN-C
10.Run the update via chickHEN firmware
11.Copy Homebrew to the PSP/GAME/*Homebrew Name*/File
12Copy games/isos to ISO/.iso
13.Run them via memory stick option in the Game option
14.Youy have to havea UMb inside or it wont work
15.Show Off that you hacked your PSP

Ask somebody else if this will work before trying it out because this is what i did on my 3000 and it worked perfect so just confirm with somebody

^ yeah, thats called PHA. Though the thing about umb(umd?) I have never heard of.

What's PHA stand for?

The umd thing is because I never told Rockstar about going into the vsh menu (press select on the xmb) and changing his driver to m33 driver or the sony one so he doesn't need a umd to play. He is using umd mode or whatever which requires a umd to be inserted to play isos.

So if you change your driver to m33 or the sony one you can just run games off the memory stick without the umd.

PHA = Partially Hackable (5.03 GEN-C most likely)
CHA = Completely Hackable (5.50 GEN-D3 more than likely)

@ rockstar but he still doesn't know if his psp is full hackable or not so he could use the first 8 steps and then start pspident. if he has an unhackable motherboard use your method and otherwise start the xgen installer for 5.50 GEN D3

Yeah your right i dont know much about hackable sps because mine is PHA.
I also know this is off topic but on 5.03 GEN-C can i play the new MGS and Gundam VS gundam?

Yes i think so, download the ISO version of it on the MGS demo thread, and get the illegal game somewhere else

The demo is worth playing, not the portable ops game's, i didn't like them very much.
If you like a story go for Metal Gear Ac!d 1
