Hardware Is my RAM bad or just incompatible?

So I just built my 1st computer but not without some roadblocks along the way. With the initial parts I had I was unable to boot and went through a tough troubleshooting spree. Eventually I came to realize the RAM was the issue...Thing is I need to know if the RAM was bad or just incompatible. Ive listed my build below along with the RAM that didnt work. I was wondering if someone could tell me if the RAM incompatible to my build or not.

ram type is incompatible, you took ram made for IBM blade server

Ok I see. Thank you for clearing that up...I needed to know weather to return it or sell it back on eBay.

How could I have identified that myself?

What marcus said. That RAM is not meant for desktop motherboards, it's for servers so it's incompatible.

You don't need low-profile RAM, so I would suggest something like G.Skill or Corsair 2x4GB sticks:

How could I have identified that myself?

The mention of ibm in the title was a clue that the ram might be proprietary, otherwise I had to google the model number as the seller did a poor job by not providing a description for his product.

Yeah he did lol but it teaches me to do more research on the parts I buy. Honestly I only used eBay cause money was pretty thin for this.
