Ok so im planning to buy this 2nd hand psp 3000 online but he said he only plays umd games on it. I asked if its hackable he didnt answer it and im not sure if he even tried to hack it so you can play iso.
There are a lot of other used psp that are iso ready already. So is it better to get that un-hacked psp? Im not sure if hes being shady. I just have trust issues. Maybe if i get it and it turns out u cant play iso games from it, then im f*cked.

so im reading the faq and i read that the later models which im getting (3000) can be unhackable depending on the firmware. or was that faw outdated and now, literally any psp can be hacked?

All PSP's should be hackable to play ISOs. Doesn't matter if he's on the latest official firmware.

Ok thank you. They really should update the FAQ tho, just saying.

Oh and i read that the latest versions, if you brick the psp, theres no way you can fix it. Is that true now?

And how easy it is to hack it? Like do you just copy and paste files and thats it? And how much risk am i taking if i do it myself? Considering this is a used PSP (and i dont know if the seller is being shady if theres hidden defects or something)

Usually fixable for 2000 models and always for 1000. Bricks are extremely rare for 3000s though.

And how easy it is to hack it? Easier than a DS. The easiest console to hack imo.
Like do you just copy and paste files and thats it? Pretty much.
And how much risk am i taking if i do it myself? Practically none.
Considering this is a used PSP (and i dont know if the seller is being shady if theres hidden defects or something) That's a risk you take with any used hardware.

you need to learn to comprehend what you are reading/looking at. it won't always be handed to you in black and white.

Q - What PSP models are hackable and how?
A - Every PSP model is hackable assuming it's firmware is at or below a certain version (look at the chart at the top).

then you look above the photo and it clearly states "(As of 3/22/2013, firmware past 6.60 has not been released yet.)". then you look at the photo and it has an arrow on 6.60 that points to the fact that its hackable.

so the conclusion? if the psp is running 6.60 or below, then no matter the model, its hackable. since there is no firmware above 6.60, all psp models are 100% hackable.

I could have sworn there was a rare 6.61 firmware that came with some obscure japanese game.

Also, the seller said he bought the 4gb memory card on south korea which is.. weird cause why does he have to buy that? Is there no included mmc when you buy a psp? Because i hear there are fake mmcs out there. (and if they are fake, theres gonna be no problem with that right?)

It was just a rumor that never came to anything.

Don't worry about the mmc. If it doesn't work well you can replace for cheap. Official Sony brand is the best.

Looks like the sony mmcs here is pricey. Like half the price of the used psp that im buying.
