Hacking Is it ok to hack a 2009 wii?

I recently got a wii it is a brand new one with the firmware of 3.4 is it ok to hack it? If so should I use the procedure of the 3.4 hacking or is it new?

If it is an LU64+ type of Wii then you have to use the cboot2 method to get whatever stuff you want on it and NEVER do anything that involves downgrading anything. Since you bought it recently, you should do this even if it doesn't happen to be an LU64+ type just to be safe.

The cboot2 method of softmodding uses cboot2 (never would've guessed, huh?

) to run the cIOS installer. The boot.dol included with cboot2 needs to be replaced with a cIOS installer (rev12 or later). You need BootMii installed to run cboot2. Despite the name, both BootMii install methods (boot2 and IOS) work with cboot2.
