Hacking Is it ever necessary to update the System Menu?

I'm using System Menu 4.0U, and am thinking about downgrading to 3.2U since there isn't a working "Region Free Wii games" hack for 4.0U.

So if I downgrade to 3.2U, install preloader, use the "skip disk updates" hack, and keep all the 4.0 IOS's installed, will I be able to play all Wii games without updating?

i think sometimes N will like not let you use internet/shop channels if you dont update, unless the skip updates hack stops this

I usually delete the shop channel with AnyTitle deleter anyway

So as long as I have the IOS's required by a game, it should play?
