So i just went through https://plailect.github.io guide, for the n3ds. It never had me create an emunand? did i completely miss a step and how am i suppose to know if im actually using luma?
Emunand is not needed with a9lh.
Sysnand is safe to update which was the main reason of emunand before a9lh. Also with a9lh you have brick protection before the homemenu boots which makes emunand pointless.

Since you finished the guide you have luma and a cfw and can do everything emunand can in sysnand

Just keep in mind that a 3DS nand csn only have 300 icon on the home menu. so if you want to have more, you must have an emunand.

Unless you like to collect all the games you probably wont hit the 300 limit.

Also only update in luma. Probably all you are using but it's got protection for A9LH where something like gateway or some other CFW dont.

Well, if they have a mass collection of VC games, those 300 icon limit will be reached in no time.
Yea thats what I meant by collecting. I have a 64gb SD card but I tend to start deleting stuff after a while if I am not going to play it ever. My backlog is a bit beefy tho.
