I have done multiple downgrades on 200x, 210x, 240x slims and some fats with my E3 flasher, but on 3.56 down-gradable 250x slims, never. So from my understanding, following is the method to follow?

a. Install the E3 Flasher clip on the NOR IC chip
b. Dump the NOR on MicroSD
c. Check if it is OK, and patch it
d. Reprogram NOR with the patched file
e. Update via USB flash drive with Rogero, Rebug or another CFW 4.41 (?)

So basically, my question is on step e

Any thoughts?
That means "update" to a CFW of your choice by using sonys USB update method.

So, basically, the method I was having in mind is correct, and just update via the Recovery menu to the CFW I want? How many chances I have to brick the console if I am not doing it right, used wrong CFW?

EDIT: I didn't realize this was about 3.56 consoles :P
Only install a 4.30-4.41 CFW. I have never done it, but you may have to patch more stuff than usual. I don't know whether you can flash it again if you install the wrong firmware.

it might be hackable. you'll have to look at ps3devwiki to make sure. 3.56 systems may or may not be hackable depending on the date code I believe.

edit: oh, I didn't realize this was an old thread. lol :P

The tutorial I posted on the first page answers all your guys questions about 3.56 consoles, what's with the confusion here ?

On 3.56 consoles you just have to watch out that you don't go for the FSM route and from there update to the latest rebug (or whatever you like).
