i know @Costello was self-funding it and last time it went dead he said he'd keep it around, but it's been a few months.

Hopefully it's a blip?

The last downtime was Oct 2021. he said it was like $5 a month to host so i dunno

I was/am on holiday and neglected to take my details for things. Some server with a nickserv, chanserv and whatever niceties like that are available (compared to efnet that the IRC channel originally started out on/settled on prior to the move).
IRCHighway I like for what it is but it is also not in most of the default listings on any given client so if we are to aspire to team easy then eh might have to be whatever is present on things.

Like FAST I'd more or less be open to joining any server provided that some basic conveniences are available.

I offered, and he messaged me in PMs, but never got a response from Costello.
Regardless I was hit with some unexpected financial difficulties last year and had to shut down my server a few days ago because of it.

I'm also fine with irchighway. The other server I usually already have connected is rizon, but I'm not opposed to adding another one. I feel like the IRC server doesn't have to be entirely new user friendly since there probably won't be a lot of new people trying to connect to the IRC anyways.

Aw, man. It sure has been a great and fun time. IRC still is a great chat protocol but it seems to be used less and less.

IRC brings good memories, it's like the "retro" version of Discord.

I used to refer to IRC as mIRC, which turns out mIRC was just a program to gain access to IRC, yet that stuck with me.
