iOS Untethered Jailbreak

Untethered(Which means I can restart without PC right?) iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak! Yay!

iTunes is pretty much the only way to backup the data, short of copying all of the necessary files manually and one by one.

Damn.. So I'll have to fix iTunes, back everything up, then update iOS/rejailbreak, right?

So, I have my wife's Ipad 1 on a tethered JB having used Snowbreeze. Any way for me to untether it for her without having to back anything up?

use the deb file on cydia called corona, @greatcrippler

also untether breaks ibooks so @pod2g will do some fixing tonight

well ok everyone ignored my question on the first page so i ask again,

would that work with a 3gs that has the ipad baseband installed ?

there was a time with ios4 where the unlock worked only with installed ipad baseband and after a while i just had to do it to finaly be able to use the telephone as a telephone again.



P.S. would i be able to somehow save the Mangas i have loaded on the phone trough an app ? well the phone is cracked already but i cannot install anything new atm cuz i played to much with some stuff i had no clue about now there is no cydia nor installous or anything else

If you get the 5.0.1 ipsw and preserve baseband while installing the jailbreak you shouldnt have a problem

Checked for that. The only "Corona" (s) that show up are sliders, and wallpapers. No untethering files.

So if i have an iphone 4 i can just update to 5.0.1 then jailbreak using redsnow correct?
There is no need to download an ipsw is there?
Also with iphone 4s is it now safe to update to 5.0.1 from 5.0?

theres no jailbreak for 4s yet but for your iphone 4 yeah, you can update and then jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.10

A4 device can update to 5.0.1
A5 devices can update to 5.0.1 for later update

Yes all the good apps are compatible minus lockdown pro and celeste but celeste never worked for me anyway, you get icloud support by updating and a few camera upgrades which do make a difference

Enjoying the jailbreak, although iBooks doesn't work (as well as the redsnow multitouch gestures - no response). It's... MAGICAL

Tested on a cousin's ipod touch 4g. 5.0.1 unthetered working! And yeah, gave some issues while installing

I waited for this, didn't do the semi-tether. I had iFile crashing constantly, somehow enabling Airplane Mode fixed the crashing issue for me. The iBooks crash definitely sucks but I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. The repos this morning were damn slow though, took three tries to download SBSettings.

Been messing with Spire a little bit, haven't found a proper server though. If someone has one and is generous shoot me a PM.
