Hacking ios 249 rev 20 base 56 or base 57

Hello everybody

Who can tell me which ios is the best to load, ios 249 rev 20 base 56 or base 57. There are many discussions on gba temp, but which one is the best?

Peronally I used base 57.

I havn't had a any problems.

if you use fat32 for games then 56 is really good as i loads 99% of all games then just instal base 57 to slot 250 and you can load every wii game that can be run off of usb.

I have base 37 (247), base 56 (248), rev14 (249) and base 57 (250) as well as Hermes 222 & 223. So far I gots all bases covered. Or do you guys think it's overkill

I'm new to this scene. I originally installed 249 + rev 20b + base 57 which worked for most games but the guitar games RB and GH would not work (in both wiiflow and cfg loader). Then I changed to base 56 and all games I have tried so far work ok.

some games require 57, most will work with it.
37 is the usual fallback for gh/rb.

rev 20 should be fine for both of those.

there might be the odd case where another base or using hermes cios is needed.

Naaah. I got a similar setup.

-249: rev17 (triiforce)
-248: rev19, base 37 (guitar games)
-247: rev20, base 57 (black ops)
-246: rev20, base 56 (a few games that don't work well on 222; triiforce ISO forwarders)
-222: Hermes's 5.1; default value (most games I have)
-223: Hermes's 5.1 (used for most wiiware in uloader)
-224: Hermes's 5.1 (erm...okay, this one just came with the installation of uloader)

All games that use 222 probably work well on 56, but...why switch when things just work the way they are?
(note: I remember hearing that one of Waninkoko's base IOS'es was optimized for USB loading - and had thus faster loading speed. can anyone tell me what one that was?)



EDIT: to my knowledge, neogamma only uses 249 (I may be wrong). In any case, you never choose a "base" in any loader. That only happens when you install a revision (in other words: keep track of what base IOS you choose when installing a recent cIOS).

hey guys, tried to install a region changer to a soft modded wii, and then lost all access i guess to programs using ios249..

Have since reinstalled ios249 using a few different base ios and using rev21, but now some of the games in usb loader crash the program when i go to info? any help would be great!!

what do i need to check for and what should all these ios configs look like?

wow, I gotta say I'm disappointed no1 has mentioned what I'm about to mention now... especially bazamuffin and wever (don't take it personally, I name u guys cuz I know u know ur shit and I think highly of u guys)... where's the love for d2x cIOSs?

rev 20 is inferior to the rev21 d2x cIOSs currently only available for download via ModMii. I know the OP was asking what base IOS is better between two rev 20 choices... but still, sometimes u gotta read between lines and answer the real question here... which is what cIOSs do we recommend the OP should install

I recommend cIOS249 d2x base56 and cIOS250 d2x base57

No offense taken...because most posts in this thread are from mid december last year (read: from before c2x was even made public).

So...yeah. My opinion has changed since then. I recommend d2x cIOS as well, now.
