Oh cool. I was actually making one of these like a year ago, but didn't have the tools or cash to finish. I have everything now all torn up in my basement.. It's actually really fun guys, and it's more Handiwork than geeky stuff.

Also they do make and sell these things, but for insane prices ($700) because of the long hours of work it can take to make these things.

Hailraiser (Another well known portable maker) made a portable called the Gamecube Fusion, and I would honestly prefer that to this. Although this portable is quite impressive, I'd just rather have the Gamecube.

That Gamecube-portable also is AWESOME.
But about 600-700$ for this is just way toooo much (even tough it's probably worth it...).

Why doesn't Nintendo sell such those things? The would make BILLIONS with that.
My technical skills are just sooo bad and about 250$ production costs for the portable N64 still is pretty much money...

No, someone shouldn't make and sell these.. Its nintendo copyright and someone can do whatever someone want for himself/herself and not sell for their profits. Its Nintendo copyright!

Don't you need the original console for the mod?
You actually just resell it then.
In that case, Nintendo wins anyways and it wouldn't be illegal either.

Yes, you need the original console for the mod and the original console is still Nintendo copyright but you can do whatever you want with it for the mod and for yourself.
You can actually resell it if it is not mod to get some money to buy other console or something like that but you shouldn't sell the console that was already mod for your PROFIT because it would be illegal.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

I see people selling their portables on the BenHeck forum all the time. Even if it IS illegal nobody gives a damn at Nintendo, apparently.

And these projects get into national publications too (Game magazines) and I highly doubt this is all illegal.

If you think nobody gives a darn at Nintendo then without a Nintendo, they will not give you a darn nothing to get and nobody will not deserve to have it. Have a respect for Nintendo. If it is illegal then its illegal, period. OBEY is a key. Jeez!
