The Wii has been hacked. While we were sleeping, a team of dedicated hackers finally got the homebrew ball rolling on Nintendo’s latest console. The trick, which was perfected last night, lets anyone execute their own code by utilising a savegame hack on a modified console. There’s no reason why it won’t work on an un-modded console, it just hasn’t been tested: unsurprisingly, none of the hackers own an unmodified Wii console.

What I read from the interview, the only thing this will do is allow you to crash the system then boot your custom Homebrew. Which means you need Twilight Princess for it to work. So basically, it's not going to be like the PSP, with CFW. It will just allow you to play Homebrew via a crash.

Don't be too pessimist. Remember the GTA:LC exploit? It did allow you to install a CFW

I realize that.
It could essentially run a Kernel allowing to install CFW.
