Got my hands on some Vista OEM Buisness disks (32/64 bit) but when I install them in a virtual machine, it doesnt give me an option to select which version i want to install. any ideas. i want ultimate

I think Windows automatically detects which kind of processor you're using, either 32 bit or 64 bit, so you can't choose which one you want to install.

Or, are you implying that Vista OEM Business disks have more than one version of Vista inside? All I know Vista Business is a standalone OS...

I know that 32 and 64 are seperate disks! I am talking about where it asks you which edition of vista you want to install then the code or something!

is that normal to be in OEM?

shouldn't it be like Vista OEM Home edition or Business
i dont think its a choosable option but rather already built into the OEM CD itself
OEM's i believe still have different editions depending on the Vista edition
so check ur cd/pc that it came w/ it should TELL you what kind of OEM it is

As far as I know all OEM Vista discs only contains the OS that's on the label. The retail package comes with all of them bundled up and uses the key to valid which one will be installed.

sorry if this of topic but,

Well, it's not that vista is as bad as when they released it now...
I have vista, and actually, I'm pretty satisfied with it.
Oh, and vista handles the power of laptops better then XP. That's a big + for me...

I have a DVD with ultimate 32, and 64 bit, I got to choose in the install menu. Found it on usenet...

first of all,
i like ubuntu. though, wine cant emulate most apps on the same level and speed as they do on Vista. (like steam)

it cant run good games well.

if vista had an X-Windows manager, I'd get Compiz fusion in a second!!

the only thing I get Ubuntu for is eyecandy and how customizable it is.

making super Vista DVD with all versions tripped out
