Hacking Installing Skins

I downloaded this Carbon Fiber skin, EZSkinner and EZ4Loader060710 and I have no idea what to do next.

EI dont know how to get a pure sin onto my ez4lite, but one of those skins, have an ez_fla type file, just put that on cart, and upgrade the loader on the cart. The new skin will be displayed when you have restarted the ds.

Use ezskinner is used to preview the a skin, and it automatically compiles some skins into a loader you can use to use a skin.

I dont know much, but I have got carbon fibre on my ds right now.

I took the ezfla.up.bin from the Carbon Fiber skin, clicked it and when I goto another menu, it gives me garbled letters.

EDIT: What format should the SD card be in? FAT or FAT32? I will try reformatting. ( NVM, should be FAT )

EDITEDIT: Read review and I have to update kernal... oooh...

Still can't get skins to work...

However, I have updated kernal to latest file and have Super Mario DS running fine.

P.S. When I add ROMs, should I tick the reset and add save patch under the list of games I am about to send?

NVM, to install it, I had to do the same thing as if I were updating the kernal.

Ill try to write one here real quick


To Install EZ4 Skin:

1. Download EZ4 skin compiler or visit this thread

2. Extract with wirar or 7zip

3. Download your favorite skin, currently i have the windows vista one.

4. Extract that compressed file.

5. Download the latest kernel, or whichever kernel you prefer. HERE

6. Extract that, now you have extracted 3 things, the compiler, the skin, and the kernel for the ez4.

7. Open the compiler folder, open the NDS folder.

8. Open the skin folder, copy and overwrite all the files from the skin folder to the NDS folder.

9. Get the kernel file and place it on the main compiler folder. (ezfla_up.bin)

10. Click on skin_it.bat , this will create a new ezfla_up.bin file, place it one your SD card, turn on your DS, hold R, update the kernel, and you have new background.
