So here's the issue: I bought a Kingston MSD HC 32 GB card today and i am having BIG issues installing games onto it. Tinfoil always fails to install and throws an error and devmenu just says failed to install. The nsp i tried to install was acquired via CDNSP so it SHOULD be a good copy right? Could it be an issue with the card itself? I tried it in both FAT32 and EXFAT formatting, both had the same issue. If anyone could...enlighten me as to what might be going on i'd be greatly appreciated. also not sure if this is the right section to be asking this or not, if not please move it to the apropriate section

EDIT:I forgot to mention but downloading legit game swas also impossible, the download would stop halfway

EDIT2: So i went ahead and bought a new micro SD, this time a 64 GB MSDXC and it seems to be working fine now

EDIT3: Ok the issue is NOT the mem card, still not able to install certain games via devmenu or tinfoil. The ones i'm trying to install are megaman x legacy collection 2 and Pokken tournament

Yeah Backup Loaders would've been a better section but I digress.

How long is the title for each NSP? As I know I had issues installing anything that was named something extremely long.

That was the first thing i tried. For example, Megaman X Legacy Collection 2 i renamed simply as MMXLC2 and it still wouldn't install

Which CFW are you using? How are you loading signature patches?

Atmosphere+Hekate+devmenu mostly devmenu. I used a tutorial i found here. Thing is, using my old 16GB card i managed to install a whole bunch of games, hence why i SUSPECT it might be a card issue

I know your problem was resolved with a new SD card, but did you try reformatting the old one with something like SD Formatter? How were you reformatting it before?

I was just using the normal windows formatting option. Did the same for the 16 GB card and it seemed to work fine, i managed to install at least 2 games after doing that

Its better to install games with freeshopNX no issues there

Perhaps but even using that my issue would have persisted since i'd need to install the games onto the SD since my sys memory is full. And i couldn't even download legit games onto that 32 GB card so i doubt i would have managed to install ones from FreeshopNX

There might be errors on the SD card that the Windows formatting options aren't taking care of. As a matter of troubleshooting, I'd use something like SD Formatter to format the troublesome SD card.

That wasn't the problem, and that's also a great way to get banned.

I'l try that. Though it seems that that card was only having issues on the Switch. Regardless, bigger one now that seems to be working better so

Well as it turns out the micro sd was not the issue, i'm still unable to install the games i'm trying to install. While tinfoil managed to install Pokemon Quest easily, even with the card formatted as exfat, i still can't install megaman x legacy collection 2 for some reason ,neither with devmenu nor tinfoil. And my copy of the NSP was acquired via CDNSP so it SHOULD be a good copy right?

Try one more thing. Format your new SD with guiformat (click on the picture to download the program) That's the only method that I was able to use to get my SD's working properly.

1- other games can you install with the Kingston SD HC 32 GB?

2-Are you using atmosphere + Singpatchs Reinx?

3- Have you tried with another SD card?

1- So far only Pokemon Quest

2- I'm using Atmosphere+Hekate

3-I have, with a 64 GB MSDXC, still can't install the games i want
