Homebrew Infared Link Switch x GBC?

Here's a crazy idea... Because the gameboy color and joycon both have infared put on them, and because you can emulate GBC on a Switch... would it be possible to get the Gameboy color to sense the infared from the joycon while it's emulating link play for a gameboy color game?

I don't think the IR stuff in the joycon is standard IR communication stuff like in the GBC or 3DS so it's probably not possible

The joycon don't have IR emisor, it's a IR camera
