The quality of these downloadable videos is much better than streaming trailers in eShop. You can barely see any compression artifacts !

As for games themselves, all of them seem to be must-haves... RE for its fantastic graphics and being a true survival horror. Starfox is bound to give one of the best 3D experiences. And Mario games will of course be fantastically polished and lots of fun.

However, I am wondering why the hell did they make each of these videos a separate "application" ? For instance, who the hell would suspend a few minutes' trailer, do something in Home Menu and then get back ? The most straightforward and reasonable way would be to have a single "3D trailers" or "movie player" application with all the content selectable there. But no, Nintendo had to do it its own way

I was hoping someone would make a topic like this coz i didnt really wanna make a new topic for it but the 3D on starfox 64 trailer was AMAZING! I could really tell that the ship was in the foreground and the enemies were in the background. Add that to the fact i love the idea of using the camara to show your reactions as your playing multiplayer and Starfox 64 is now a must-have game for me!

I agree its really annoying that they have them as seperate apps.
But I believe the reason for this is because they are high quality videos. They are probably too large to be streamed in realtime for most people, so I guess nintendo just decided to make them downloads.

Still couldn't they have the sense to make a single app ala the psp's video section of the xmb? I guess not Nintendo has always been lousy when it comes to media.

Fucking shit, I didn't like any of the 3D effects. Only starfox appealed to me, great 3D effects there! Stuff like super mario, mario kart and RE:R do you really need 3D effects for those games? It looked pointless, better graphics would have been better than wasting processing power on 3D IMO.

Gameplay was nice though

what are you talking about the 3D in paper mario looks awesome! and besides mario games have never been "graphic intensive" gameplay is always first.

The only thing I disliked about the 3D trailers is the sound quality is garbage. You can barely hear them unless you put headphones on.
Well that's why many people says to put on the headphones so we will be able to enjoy the video.

So is Star Fox just a 3D version or does it actually have updated gfx ?

I drool at the prospect of Star Fox.

This is yet another reason why Nintendo doesn't get how to do media right.

I do usually when my wife is asleep, but many times I don't have headphones with me when I'm out and about.

More suitable for a blog, to be honest.

I do agree with you. It would have been much easier for Nintendo to simply make a movie player application. Another thing that annoys me is that the trailers use a generic video icon rather than a unique icon to tell them apart. Nintendo doesn't even have to make new icons as in the eShop, the trailers don't have generic icons (e.g, Mario trailer has icon with Mario).

Anyways, Nintendo should be happy that people are downloading what is essentially free advertising.

I find the sound on the 3DS speakers to be well good for their size :/
The 3DS speakers are fine when playing a game, but the sound is terrible when watching one of the 3D trailers.
I do agree the sound get lower, but not enough for me to get earphones. Have not use earphone on it yet. (maybe from the lack of one,but still)

Also in Mario kart when that thing inks you, it gives off a nice effect.

depends on the game, SSFIV ingame volume sucks!, OoT is okay, and RE Mercenaries is passable.
