is there any present way of solving this problem now, or likely to be in the future...

mate with wii and broken drive, 4.1....told him to follow the guide from here, he's not too wii savy, sets up his wii for wifi and in doing so clicks on update and it takes his machine to 4.3E!!!!

he cant use the lego indiana or the SSBB ways as his drive wont play games....

I really wonder what's the logic behind this question? It's pretty known that you need to be able to boot Lego Indiana Jones or SSBB (NTSC) to hack a 4.3 wii... Then why is this questions getting asked over and over?

- Do we really need that game?
- Yes
- Do we really and really need that game?
- Yes
- ...
- ...

As if people keeping other methods as secret. (Yeah it really happens sometimes but WTF?)

ps: just lend your drive to your friend or make him buy a drive emulation chip like wode or wiikey fusion... After softmodding he can sell the chip though it's better that he/she kept it considering his/her awareness of this stuff...

sorry, the logic behind the question is, although im pretty savvy with my wii and stuff, and ive helped lots of people mod their wii, ive never had someone try it from a 4.3 machine. i hadnt even therefore heard of the lego indiana hack. i gave my mate the advice to go and mod his machine, and on the strength of that he ordered a hard drive so i feel a wee bit guilty, so having only just found out about the indiana hacks etc...there was the possibility id missed something else, or the possiblity that maybe someone had posted saying a bannerbomb crack for 4.3 was being tested or something.

good call on the wode actually, didnt think about that. With the wiikey fusion, i see he can run games from the sd, can he soft mod it using one though?

Yeah pretty much, If he installs one of this hardmod solutions then he can use his backup (

) to use Indiana Pwnz.

Did he update to the latest homebrew channel before he updated. Also does he have cios250 maxed out which I think cios19 did for you. Or was it just nit softmodded in the first place
