Hi everyone,

I'm sure there's many thread about this but everytime i'm reading i'm just lost.

My switch: Bought before july 18 (XAW700.....)
Running on 5.1.0 currently
SxPro (v2.5 i think)
I didn't do a save of my nand yet (i feel bad about that)
No emuNand was create
Always use on airplane since i use Sxpro
Atmosphere, Hetake, Choidujour is unknown to me

My goal: Buy Mario Maker 2 (physical copy) and play it online

**There will always be a chance of ban/brick etc..., I'm aware of that, but i know that some are playing Smash online without problem*** (i'm ok to take the risk)

I'm not really sure how to do it and how I'll be able to update switch or game update without problem. What I'm not sure to understand is that if I use emunand, my sysnand is totally not connected to emunand so not detectable if i play online??? Well if I'm wrong, go ahead and explain to me... I'm pretty noob..... so I just want to know how to do it with minimal risk....

Thanks a lot.

Then do it if you plan to hack your console. This is the first step which i do before i mod my consoles ;)

Ehm...yes there is a chance to be banned. Nobody really knows what is going on with nintendo. But since they see everything what you do with your console, the chance is relatively high.

Play online in the future or mod your console. Or buy a second unit for online play. Whatever.

I'm going to start with a dump of my nand for sure. Since MM2 is the only game I going to play online... I wont pay for a second switch.. if i'm banned.. so be it..
Using emuNand, choidujour etc... will reduce the risk? or help if a brick it? I want to make the modification that will reduce the brick and the chance of being banned... its not 100% save and i'm ok with it

If i buy the game, i'll have to update the switch... so how can i do that if i still want to use CFW with sx after that?

Ehm...i don't understand?! Update the console normally and play the game.

so how can i do that if i still want to use CFW with sx after that?
Put all the cfw stuff on your micro sd card and start it? Would i say.

The latest update 7.1.0? is still working with the sxpro? i was sure i hat to use emunand to update the switch but not he cfw

Since you've already ran CFW on your switch the ban risk is high. If you had a nand backup before you did anything then your risk would be low. If I was you I'd follow these steps:

1. Dump your raw nand now and boot0 and boot1
2. Use biskeys to get your keys
3. Rebuild your nand on your PC to be clean. Look around there are lots of guides
4. Backup all your gamesaves and any xci's you may have.
5. Restore your clean nand
6. Backup your SD on your PC and reformat it
7. Launch SX payload and create hidden emunand on your SD
8. Boot into OFW and update
9. Put all your SD files back on SD
10.???
11. Profit

So if i understand correctly.... you want me to dump my current nand. clean it... save all my files... restore clean nand (so it will be like a new switch?) That way I always have a clean nand on my pc if something went wrong. launch payload and create an emunand so i can update OFW and still use CFW separatly. (since its on sd card, its ''hidden'' from nintendo so chance of ban are still there but reduce and clean nand to save me. (with clean nand ill still be banned?)

Close. Clean nand is so you can go online. Not in case something goes wrong. You're gonna get banned if you go online with a dirty nand.

But i can restore clean nand if I they banned me? and if so i guess i still cannot go back online cause my ''ID'' is ban forever

No. If you're already banned then you're stuck. You wont be able to take it online (as of the time of this post. Check the date).

Build a clean nand and restore it if you've never been online.

I did a dump of my nand (after using CFW), i don't find anywhere how to ''clean'' it? before restore it

I'm not banned. And trying not to be neither... I'm following a tutorial to ''clean'' my nand since I use CFW before making the nand so far its good but i dont understand point 10 to 15

''HacDiskMount to wipe installed Titles from NAND:

1. Send the memloader.bin payload to your Switch.

2. On Switch, navigate with Volume - / + to ums_emmc.ini and launch it with Power

3. Open HacDiskMount as Administrator, File > Open Physical Drive - Select [ Linux UMS disk 0 (29.121 GiB) ]

[[ On Windows, if after launching the ums_emmc.ini ... in Windows's Device Manager, if you see a device with a yellow exclamation mark - Right-click and uninstall it, then click the "Scan for Hardware Changes" button / menu option in order to get it to appear properly. ]]

4. Select the SYSTEM location, open it.

5. Paste the contents of BIS Key 2; if mismatch, write them by hand.

6. Set a drive letter, mount it.

7. Go to the mounted drive on your PC, open it.

8. Open the SAVE folder, #DELETE# everything EXCEPT for [8]000000000000[120]

9. Go back one directory, go to the USER folder... #DELETE# everything.

9. Dismount the drive in HacDiskMount, power off your Switch.

10. Resend the memloader.bin payload, select ums_sd.ini to boot into SD mode.

11. Move your SD files back to root. Rename Nintendo folder temporarily, or you will be asked to format SD when using the Switch.

12. Hold Vol- while you boot your normal payload with TegraRcmSmash. Boot Stock Firmware. System Initialize / Reformat your Switch (Settings > Bottom) just to make sure you're fine.

13. Resend memloader.bin, select ums_sd.ini, delete the new Nintendo folder, rename yours back to Nintendo.

14. Boot Stock Firmware again [ Booting CFW might leave logs, only boot stock! Make a NAND Backup if you want to avoid this in the future. ]

15. Install your stuff again if its legitimate, otherwise do what you want before you pollute your NAND with detectable CFW junk. ''

Why VOl- to boot. and what is ''normal payload'' ?? and what is boot stock firmware

SD files meaning custom firmware files can use basic hekate.bin
Normal payload meaning like hekate so you can boot stock firmware, this is to bypass the fuse check and boot into system

Stock firmware is just stock without custom firmware like atmosphere or sxos

Ok. For the moment I think i cleared everything. ( My SD card is format, I used momloader and hacdiskmount to erase all the file. When I boot my switch on OFW It feel like a factory reset (ask to create an account, setting etc.) I do a dump of this nand. After that going to to an emunand
