I'm having trouble with USBLoader GX/Wiiflow; it suddenly started giving me a black screen when I try to load games. I've reinstalled cIOS with d2x, and I've reformatted my usb flash drive and added games again with WiiBackupManager. I spent a while yesterday running through those two steps a few times.

I also just ran SysCheck.

No, I don't own one and I'd rather use a flash drive. Does everything else check out to the point where the drive would be the only problem?

Flash drives are generally not recommended for Wiis. They often won't initialize or don't work with cIOSes resulting in freezes or reboots to the system menu. You _might_ be able to get it to work by partitioning it as WBFS instead of a regular filesystem but it will only be usable for Wii backups. EmuNAND/NEEK/GC won't work from it.

That's why I own this drive, so I'll give it a try. Thanks for the assistance, despite my insistence on using a flash drive.

You could try v8 final instead of v10 beta whatever. Or v9 final if it exists but somehow I recall 9 was skipped

Edit: it could very well be that this still won't work because of the compatibility issues discussed above, but this is the only thing u could try before getting a new USB hard drive

Also, if the bulkiness of a traditional hard drive is your issue, you could try using a large micro sd card if you got one lying around, although again you might have a hard time finding one that is compatible and large enough for your needs

That doesn't make sense. You mean they skipped v9 just like how the note 5 skipped the note 6 and went right to the infamous note 7. That's at least my understanding as of this writing.

Its funny how I say "they" when referring to d2x when I am one of the "x's" that gives d2x its name, but honestly I haven't been involved since v1 or v2, and even then it was just on the installation side.

Edit:
But you can't call v10 v9, that would be like calling the 20th floor the 19th floor. While technically accurate it's just too confusing to go against the number that is printed there for all to see.

Its fun to disagree with you, lol, first time for everything! And this is such a minor point it doesn't even matter.

v9 was supposed to have multiple port and PnP support but it was extremely buggy so they split it up into two versions. beta52 is essentially the same as v8 except with some fixes for drive capacity reporting and beta53 has the new features that were supposed to go into v9. (Also, v10 added support for vWii.) v9 was essentially pulled. If you check out d2x from GitHub you'll get v10-beta52 code.

There's no reason to use v10 at all if you have a regular Wii unless you happen to have one of the drives that the bug affected.
