revert my Wii back to it's "virgin" state, and decide to re-softmod it, would it brick or anything? Is there any disadvantages (unable to install DVDx, unable to install BootMii, etc)?

I'm will be using this guide

If you're wondering why I'm doing this, I want to start clean again. I don't want to screw anything up, and I want to follow tutorials instead of running around of my own accord.

Thanks.

that guide will not entirely clean out your system.

it doesnt even touch the IOS's

use the CSG one instead

http://www.completesoftmodguide.tk/other-stuff/virgin

and to the answer, there are no disadvantages, except that its a waste of time.
So it isn't safe? I want to re hack it so I can start new, since becuase...

It is NOT RECOMMENDED to use this guide unless you want to get rid of all your hacks FOREVER. If you want to re-hack it, just follow a Hacking guide WITHOUT revirginizing first!

it depends on the user, the method is safe but the programs used can be dangerous if misused.

just following the hacking guide will overwrite anything youve done previously.

7. The last step. Everything in this step is NOT RECOMMENDED if you want to re-hack the Wii!

* Run the Hackmii installer. If you have DVDX, uninstall it
* Go to the bootmii menu and uninstall Bootmii
* Finally you can uninstall the HBC as well.

So I just don't do that step and then I'm good?

well that only uninstalls hbc, bootmii, and dvdx

usually the first things installed when hacking a wii.

its up to you, if your going to rehack they will get reinstalled anyways.

Thank you, I probably won't uninstall, just in case.

I would give you a rep or thank you, but this forum doesn't have the system.

Anyway, thanks again.

Lock?

If i were you, I would make a nand backup of how your wii is now, that way if you do "virginize" it, then re hacking it will be as easy as using the hackmii installer, installing bootmii, and restoring from a nand backup

Never mind, I have a problem.

Since I have DARKCORP installed, I tried to uninstall it.

1) If you have cIOSCORP/DARKCORP -> Run the DARKCORP uninstaller (it can be found in the same pack as DARKCORP)

It just comes out to:

exception -1029
error! es-identify

So, do I have to reinstall the Trucha Bug and then uninstall that afterwards?

DARKCORP uninstaller should use cIOS249

u might not have it installed.
What app should I use, then?

Sorry if I'm causing too much trouble, I barely got into the Wii scene, and basically don't know anything about installing cIOS 249 (don't be deceived by my registration date, I've been inactive for probably over a year now.)
