I have an idea - It such a waste doing a hardmod for downgrading once.
So thought about: Isn't it possible to drill some holes exactly over the solder points for the nand and pushing some pins into it?

Or even better - special made lower case shell for nand access - holes made out with metal and with threads.

So whenever someone needs to downgrade a 3ds for someone, he just needs to remove the lower shell and put the modified on and plug the pins in.

nand access without destroying the virginity of the pcb. wouldn't be that awesome?

The idea is not to make a port into the shell or soldering at all, instead, the idea is to hardmod but still left everything on the console mint and as new untouched...

Two of the points (dat0 and cmd) are on the other side of the board and are unreachable without unscrewing the mother board

How exactly would you leave the console "mint and as new untouched" if you drill holes into it? You're not gonna get much more "mint" than the images DaftMink linked.

Read again - ANOTHER shell case only for nand access. (A modified spare part or 3d printed one)
Unscrew the stock one - install the one with the holes, do nand stuff, then screw back the UNMODIFIED STOCK one.

Guys, stop criticising and start to imagine

Pogo pins are what you want for this. I think it's a great idea for people who want to unbrick and are still under warranty.

Maybe more feasible on models like o3dsxl? (pins are reachable from one side)

my idea poorly drawn
you don't use or original shell for that, instead you use a extra one bought for that
EDIT: readed that some pinouts are on the other side. so maybe same thing with the upercase?

That involves holes on the touch screen... Why not have this? A lot neater then you know...HOLES

how many times have I to say it again - to let your 3ds untouched. You have to buy a seperate shell with for the holes. Technically it would look like it's waranty don't expire - and no solderiong of course

No it doesn't. Why would you think that?
Remeber, if it's not a old XL then then the pins are on the other side (screen side)

You performed a read and write to the NAND meaning that's already voiding the warrant and why would they repair the device if the see holes in the Case!

And if some pinout are beneath the touchscreen, a wire expansion to run the screen outside the device could be possible? Imagine

That would require soldering making the point of this mod irrelevant

There are no holes in the case, that's the entire point of this. OP is only talking about the OXL.

Well, to be honest I didn't informed my self well enough where the pinouts for every model are exactly located. So on some 3ds models some pinouts aren't reachble from the back... to bad, I'm sad

also if you want it unnoticed why dont you have the pin out underneath the battery will never be seen
