i've been having this same issue with my ds now for a few days. when i close it and then i go back to it later (even if i go back to it immediately)the ds will have switched itself off
i've had to get into the habit of saving any game i was playing before i close it because 9 times in 10 the thing is switched off when i come back to it
has anyone else had problems like this

What gear are you using on your DS? Supercard, Superkey, M3, Flashpass?

Mabey your battery is getting stale?

Let me know

it could still be the battery. The nds batterys are shit and you only get 200 charges before it starts to break. (even says it on nintendos site)

Mobile phone batteries say the same. That's just a warranty-evading disclaimer with a safety margin of 5000%. What they are saying is that precise measurement will show deterioration of about 0.5 % of the battery life after (on average) 200 charges. You'll only notice the difference in about 1000 charges or more.

You can, however, ruin battery life by constantly playing multiplayer games on battery power alone, or by using the wireless connection all the time. That can have a negative effect on the battery. If possible, use external power when using wireless stuff

However, 200 charges or not, wireless or not, the battery shouldn't have died in 2 months. Either you got a faulty battery, or the battery isn't the cause of your problem.

Try exchanging it under warranty. Easiest solution.
