And tonight finally trying Java brand roux cubes-

Cook +- like directions on the box, though I seldom do in favor of just throwing things in, simmering em down in the minimum suggested amount of water, and hoping for the best.
So about 8 chopped up chicken thighs got sliced up and went in w/ 2 onions after a medium sear,

Then went in the water and potaotes, carrots, and mushrooms in about 5 min intervals on medium heat.

Cook all this on medium ish heat til taters get tender, and mix in the roux cubes. Then follow the box for low heat and another thorough mix for a few minutes. After, i chopped up some green onions on there and the consistency settles to perfection,

This batch worked out, though I can't say there is much of any heat in the medium-hot box. Flavor honestly compares quite close to S&B roux, and in a good way.
