Well some animes I've seen and like would have to be Sukisyo, Death Note, Hellsing, Angel's Feather, Papa to Kiss in the Dark, Elfen Lied, Full Metal Alchemist, Excel Saga, and Fullmetal Panic Fumoffu.
That's just for starters
You're opinion is now irrelevant.
How is my opinion irrelevant? He asked for animes and I gave some I could think of

i think its because you called them "animes" where as its called "anime"
So there is no plural to anime...Hmmm well life goes on.

Still irrelevant.
Your making a huff about adding an s to anime to pluralize it? I didn't know that you didn't need an s, life goes on.
So moving on.

Umineko was made by the same people as Higurashi.
Higurashi was made first though

Ok, i know little about anime outside of Adult Swim, and a few random movies i've seen through the years.

Two that have been recommended to me, Read Or Die and Death Note. Could i get some quick opinions about them?

What i've seen and enjoyed:
Series: Trigun, Bebop, Initial D, DBZ, FLCL, Paranoia Agent, Lupin The 3rd, Blue Gender, Full Metal Alchemist
Movies: Fist Of The North Star, Akira, Golgo 13, Vamp Hunt D, Ninja Scroll, Perfect Blue

Series i have not liked: Hellsing (blegh), that one with the kid that shows his ass all the time.

Naruto & Inuyasha are both mediocre as well. Sometimes cool, sometimes not.
Also, not really a fan of Miyazaki's films. They just don't grab me as i'd hoped they would.

Mind you, there are probably others i've watched in terms of both series and movies that i just can't think of, but that's a basic list.

So, Death Note and Read Or Die, whatcha think? Should i check em out?

(yes, i know, my list is very limited to US tv... but what can i say, that's what i have to watch
tongue.gif
)
(also, can you recommend something else?)

higurashi was written first, followed by uminko they are very similar but no where near ripoffs of each other

I really liked Code Geass. It was the first anime I watched as "matured" person (I watched Pokemon and YuGiOh as a kid but everyone knows those are crap) and it was great. Lots of complexity and depth. Death Note is also very comparable.

Darker Than Black is also quite good. I thought it made a very nice overworld, having a world filled with Contractors and with nations stabbing each other over Contractors and Hell's Gate.

If you want some action that's not the cheesy Dragon Ball crap, I suggest Gungrave and Devil May Cry. Darker Than Black also has a fair amount of action, but nothing as intensive as this.

Hop is usually pretty knowledgeable about anime.

Don't make some kind of stupid ass troll post when you dislike something.

It's quite obvious that you know little to nothing about anime.

you owned that troll cake
