Hey, so I guess I'm an idiot and missed this critical step.
I followed a youtube tutorial in which I created an emuMMC. I then installed tinfoil and began navigating the pro shops.

I am very confused whether or not creating the emuMMC also made a backup of the sysNAND, or if I am not even messing with the sysNAND.

Is there any way for me to create a backup at this point? I assume I will never be able to return to the original firmware at some point?

1) don't follow youtube tutorials. 90% of the time. The info will be outdated

2) emunand/emummc is a copy of your sysnand that runs off your sd. So emunand doesn't touch sysnand.

3) you can swap between emunand and sysnand just by turning off and on the console (depending on if you have a modchip or not)

4) it's never too late to make a nand backup wether it's dirty or not, with the exception of bricking your console before making it

Whenever I point someone tp a guide or need to use one myself, I use this one

Even then, with most bricks you can still backup the vital prodinfo partition, which is enough to return to bone stock including online play, you just have to rebuild the eMMC image from an existing proper partition layout and a system update. As long as you have prodinfo, you can 100% of the time unbrick from any amount of eMMC corruption, as long as the hardware remains undamaged, and return to a clean like-new state.

If you never installed any pirated content to Sysnand CFW, then you probably have a clean NAND, keep in mind that Sysnand CFW and OFW share the same NAND, you should always have a NAND backup on hand, it save you from a disasterous day.
