Moved the .bin file into luma/payloads and assigned to a key by renaming it. I tried with X (x_d9.bin) and right (right_d9.bin) and start, didn't work. What am I doing wrong? I have no trouble booting godmode9, even though it's a .firm file, shouldn'd decrypt boot the same way?

Solution
If you have boot9strap, the payloads are all .firm, a .bin won't work. If you're following a guide and it says to use a .bin, it's outdated. Use The Guide.

And for what would you want Decrypt9?

Oh, I see. ...Well, I'm trying to convert some of my games back to CIAS so I can move the files to the new o3DS I bought. I can't just download them, since my internet connection downloads with 20KB per sec. I read in a guide somewhere that Decrypt9 can do that.

Ok, found it in .firm. Yet, converting games back to .CIA is a lot more complicated than it should be. I didn't manage to get it work, I got error messages writing that my sd card is formated the wrong way or something.
Guess it's not worth the fuss and I'll simply download them.
I wish FBI is gonna add the option at some point though.

And again, thanks for answering!

Format your card as FAT32 with a cluster size of 32kb.

And you should try to download them from freeShop instead of using .cias. It's just easier, even if you have to get internet from a friend's house or something.

Converting gamecarts to CIA is easy. Just boot up GM9, go to the [C:] GAMECART drive, and press A on the .trim.3ds file. Go to NCSD Image Options... -> Build CIA from file. Once it completes, you will find a .trim.cia file in 0:/gm9/out ready to be installed.
