Just passing on the information that the developers of HBG/Tinfoil said
It probably just means they're willing to troubleshoot for exfat consoles (or that when you bring up an issue they'll say they can't help it because of exfat). This doesn't make exfat any safer as the exfat driver hasn't changed and isn't meant to handle the stuff a hacked switch can throw at it

They physically mentioned that it is safe to use, staff confirmed it too. It's the dev of Tinfoil

Yeah, and I'm saying that regardless, exfat isn't 100% safe to use. Even if applications/developers of applications support it.
Said applications would have to not read/write from the card at all to conceivably be able to say that.
Their program hasn't changed how the driver works so the risk is still there.
The risk is low, but you might as well use fat32 as it's safer and is less prone to corruption.
Exfat is still a viable option, but the corruption issues aren't going anywhere for a while if ever

Understood.

The announcement that they made was complete bullshit. Nothing in ams or fw was changed.

Then why make it. I fail to understand how that's a joke if it was intended. I assumed the latest Atmosphere build and or 9.1.0+ had better optimisation. I'm still on FAT32, but assumed exFAT was safe from what I've read there.

I have no idea, I was just as confused when i saw it.

Unless maybe they were just talking about Tinfoil? But then, why would they even mention fw / ams version at all...so yeah, no idea sadly.
