I have a question regarding the (upcoming) usb loader for Wii U games and hard drive compatibility:

Will we still be unable to use >2 TB hard drives?
how about this, exploit will release, it will work off sd card (get a cool 32gb wifi enabled one they are the shit) then wait for a while, someone will make a usb loader gx type thing eventually.

I was wondering if usb loading would work the same way as it does for legit digital games. USB Loader GX for the Wii does not have a HDD size limitation, whereas the Wii U can only read HDDs up to 2TB in size (if there is a workaround to this, please let me know).

This normally wouldn't be a pressing issue, but 2TB hard drives have been harder to find as of late, and it would be nice to know if I should make the purchase. Although in hindsight it is a bit early to be asking this sort of question.

only 2tb? well bang goes my idea to use a 4tb archive drive.

Its a fair question
But would we really need more than 2tb?

I mean, i cant remember that much wiiu games i really need...

My wiiu 500gb hdd is far from full and the only reason i will update to 1tb is because i have some serious faith in the upcoming (i hope) n64/ps1/dc emulators

Seriously why are you guys need more then 2tb? You want the entire Wii U and Wii library or what?

P.S. hope everyone grabs Yoshi's Cookie from the Eshop for the exploit before the new firmware update!

jokes!
Lmao you can't troll like this right now. People are way to vulnerable. When I read an article tomorrow about how yoshi's cookie is the number one eshop game I'm going to roll my eyes in the creepiest manner possible.

I have 43 games and im still buying more every week or two, unless theres on the fly scrubbing they will be 22gb each , 43x 22gb= 946gb, so that, plus all my emulators and roms, my fave wii games etc, 2tb will swallow up fast. Im aiming for an entire library on disc, so I was looking at 4tb or so. I could possibly do this using 2 external 2tb drives, but Im looking into the possibility of using a NAS server.

hehe x3 You can't get it on the eshop, it's a fake picture (if you couldn't tell by the Zelda-U disc in the drive ;) )

You're calculating at full disc size. New SMB is ~2GB and some of the other games are even smaller. You don't need to "scrub" padded data. Eshop titles don't have any padding either.

Man I am so hyped about the upcoming release... I hope we have at least some news for a release day in the next few days!

Unless my information is outdated, it should be impossible to use the same HDD for Wii and Wii U, because the format overrides the entire HDD hence it can only play either Wii or Wii U titles. Feel free to let me know if i'm (hopefully) wrong.
