No, sadly it doesnt, because the unupdateable ones wont work with this.
Thats why im asking if the ones sold by ming are updateable.
Screw Ming, I had to pay $18 to ship back a HWFLY Lite "V3" that was really a non-updatable V1 that he swore up, down, left, right & sideways that was safe to install in my OLED when it had SpaceCraft-NX 0.1.0 on it.

Even if his chips are updatable now that man does not deserve the business after all the old stock chips he was selling at $170 that are now ticking timebombs in people's OLED's.

In another thread, doom95 said just updating the sdloader on even the 0.1.0 chips would prevent any issues regarding the Lite sending 5v instead of 3.3v.

You asked if the ming modchips are updateable - in this video it shows the ming modchip and clearly says it's not updateable.

true, and you can do so with the hwfly-toolbox.
but since we do not know the exact behavior of these unflashable modchips, we don't know when it forces back their 0.1.0 spacecraft onto it. so you'd still be at risk, especially after sysnand upgrades

So the hwfly oled chips from ming arent upgradeable?
are they safe to use?
are there any downsides to using them in an oled switch?

No, looks like Ming is selling the OLED with locked chips based on his ads. Those are unflashable. Look at the video in the second post. You want the OLED chip with the five solder points at the top.

So they are not safe to use?

EDIT: Would someone be so kind and send me a link to an updateable chip for the switch oled?
Guess i need to return the first one when it arrives and buy a new one.

3C-Honesty store has a small batch of genuine Core/Lite still available, just grab one of those.

which one of those for an oled switch? and do i need anything else?
Genuine Lite works best based on the smaller footprint. Technically that's all you need, however the install becomes cleaner/easier if you also buy one of those $10 flex cable sets that include d0 adapter. I'll send DM.

I hate to be a bother, but could you be so kind as to send along a DM my way as well re: that adapter?

I have a Lite and an OLED to do, and if I can just buy 2 genuine lites and an adapter for the OLED that'd be great.

The chips from the honesty stores are fakes.
I bought an SX Lite there and it was a non-updateable clone.

I am now out 100€ that i will never get back for installation.

Dont ever buy there.

I had to specifically ask for a genuine one. Was told they don't have one, only clones, but could get one in about a week if I was willing to wait. It's in the mail now, so we will see.

Ok!
I will thank him!
I asked him because he just can buy them locally 😭, but most people can't!
So he send me a link for flashable modchips!

Wish I would have a really good friend in China to buy them for me and send them over!
