Thanks.
I also think it works without a header, as version 1.1a worked with clean roms too.

No problem.
I have a question but I dont wanna make another thread for it.
Save files are attached to headers right?
So if I have 3 games with the same header, would they overwrite the save on the SD?
Just making sure before I start game and get too far lol

no, dw the header is just used in combination with the games titleID.....not sure exactly where it comes into play, but the save will always be the titleID of the game and the header is just used somewhere in the creation of the save

Ah cool, thanks :D
Shinobi header worked with 5 games so far :)
I just dont wanna use up all my 16 headers just yet lol.

the save filename is based on the GameID.
The header is the key to encrypt/decrypt the save data, and also used for online access.
The header is used only if the rom use the .3dz extension, else it's using a generic/default one identical for all games.

Thats good to know :)
my headers seem to make all games work online just fine :D
now, just gotta wait to access e-shop my own dumped game updates

yeah,
1. pick format emunand from the gateway menu
2. boot up emunand, go to system settings and make sure you set it up correctly, it will say GW3D, in front of the system version (if it says Ver. 4.x go back and actually do step 1)
3. shutdown the console
4. boot back up into emunand and hold UP when triggering the DS profile exploit, this time DO NOT enter system settings press select and choose a game with the required FW version from your region, and do the prompted update

Bonus step between steps 2 and 3, you can move some stuff around on the homescreen and use that as a visual indicator as to which nand your in, like having a folder named "Emu" on emunand and "Sys" on system nand

you cant use a EU rom to update a US console etc, and you cant use super trimmed roms as they have the update partition removed

Hey man thx for the great info. I cant wait to try it ( still haven't received my Gateway cards). I just need to, as I security freak to ask.
1.What does UP command on D-pad actually do? I only saw that you used term "FW spoof" which is kinda irrelevant for a newbie like me.
2. There is no theoretical chance of blowing this up, as ROMs cant update my sysNAND ( they cant load to be precise)?

1, your emunand will be a 4.x emunand when you first set it up i.e a dirsct clone of your system nand, by default GW spoofs(fakes) the FW so games that require updates will run even though your not actually updated, so for example pokemon needs 6.x, but with firmware spoofing enabled it will run on 4.x......holding up just disables the spoofing so when you go to run a game that requires an update it will allow you to update emunand

2. while i cant guarantee anything 100%, im fairly sure you cant disable FW spoofing unless your booting into emunand.....so theoretically this is safer than updating via system settings as it can only work in emunand mode......but just follow the instructions completely and you will be fine

how stable is doing a system transfer to the emunand? my 3ds had a smash bros circle pad death, and dont want to lose all the save data... and doing this would cause my emunand to update to 9.0 right (which doesnt work in emu mode) ?
