I updated to 4.0 because I wanted the SDHC functionality. I used the Waninkoko update. I'm also using Homebrew, and Backup Loader. How can I prevent the automatic updates from Nintendo so I don't lose functionality...or get bricked?

PreLoader 0.29 or StartPatchv4.0 as far as I understand.

I asked what the difference between them in the "Noob's Paradise" but no response yet?
