Hacking Question How to setup emummc for online?

This is how I've been thinking about doing it. My question for you is, my clean sysnand backup is for 7.0.1 and I have the corresponding number of burnt fuses to match. In this case, I would leave my sysnand alone and create 2 emunands:

1) Emunand 1 - this is my legit Emunand. Can I use ChoiDujour to update it to 8.1.0 so I can play all of my purchased games online and using the eShop? Will a firmware and fuse mismatch cause a ban?
2) Emunand 2 - this is the one that stays at 7.0.1 and is used for RetroArch and never goes online.

The thing I haven't seen many people talk about is the firmware and fuse mismatch and whether or not it will cause issues. I'd rather not upgrade my sysnand to 8.1.0 so my fuses match if I can avoid it. I'm hoping someday there will be a warm boot option for 7.x though that may be dreaming...

I said in another thread, it doesn’t seem sensible to do this as eventually Nintendo may find a way to detect the OS is being ran from SD card rather than NAND, and you’d be banned before you could fix it.
If you want online risk free, then update sys nand without autoRCM, then have emuMMC for everything else. No way they can cross

I'll worry about that when the time comes. I don't think they'll be doing that, so the method I mentioned works great, especially if you are hoping for a persistent coldboot exploit in the future.

Anyway, I decided to format my card to exfat to install the full image and it worked. But now i'm running into a blackscreen. I'm getting a blackscreen both with the backup restored and when i create a new emummc using nyx. (both stock and CFW boot, the stock shows the nintendo logo, the CFW shows the atmos logo --> blackscreen.)

any idea's?

hello loler55, I see that you are doing same thing as I am doing with my emunand and SMM2.

I did this over a month ago or so before hekate come out with nice emummc stuff.
Basically, I started with cleanest nand backup and partition my sd card for emummc.
then I did dd the nand backup to the partition of my sd card. I did configs manually at this time.
I got emunand running perfectly with atmosphere, I decided to update it to latest fw via nintendo servers.
I only used my game carts on the emunand. I have SMM2 game cart and started playing SMM2 online for awhile.
I have few homebrew apps in /switch it is EdiZon, MMLinx, and some of my own homebrew apps.
Zero piracy or running game mods on it.
