Hi everyone,
I already have my legit 3DS but i LooOoooOOOove the Minecraft special version with the creeper on it.

Too bad the cost of the PAL version is doubled in comparison to the japanese one, so i was considering buying the japanese.

Since the access to the store and playing with cardrige is no problem cause i already have a PAL DS, is it possible to use some for of hack to render the Creeper DS usable?
I just would like to run roms on it and retrogames.

Googling around i found only very old guides, some requiring a particular game which i dont have, is there anywhere an updated guide?

Thank you very much <3

Not sure what is your goal with the Japanese console. Simply installing B9S and Luma? This is possible on any 2|3DS system by following the guide:

https://3ds.hacks.guide/ or if you prefer https://3ds.hacks.guide/it_IT/

What do you mean with "render the Creeper DS usable"? I seriously hope it is usable when you get it.

Region changing is also possible https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing but has some downsides. Getting eShop access on a new 2|3DS model after region changing is somewhat complicated: in general: Only if a system never accessed (in your case the Japanese) the "native region" eShop, it can access the shop in the new region.* The only real reason for changing the region is getting additional languages for the Home Menu as out-of-region games work with Luma locale emulation.

If you decide to do a region change: Please create a NAND backup before doing this.

*Not fully true. There actually is a way to get this working but it is complicated and needs two devices from the same region.

Edit: Dang! The ASK! section does not highlight links. "is a way" contains a link

Most of the ones around here as of the last few years I would have to be there at 6am, muscling people as they are dragging things from their boot, skipping rows as the parade of kids looking up things on CEX roves just behind me
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
CEX has to be the worst place to buy consoles imho, too overpriced in there.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I think the whole overpricing bullshit has to do with the pandemic of all things, or has it always been like that?
  • FAST6191 @ FAST6191:
Since Game squashed gamestation and themselves went pop or new games only they are the only place around save for a few independent pawn shops
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I've bought a PS3 for 45 quid before they went up in CEX.
  • ZeroT21 @ ZeroT21:
    scalpers really profited lol
  • FAST6191 @ FAST6191:
Actually I lie. Occasionally Cash Converters has something
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@FAST6191, You get a lot more when you sell over there.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @ZeroT21, Unfortunately true.
  • FAST6191 @ FAST6191:
As far as PS3s go then I think that might be more things going retro quicker than we were maybe used to coming up in earlier times
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Ngl I was gonna sell a fake Pokémon GBA game in CEX since there were plenty of fakes, that was until they start taking apart cartridges and comparing the PCB to an original.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Could've gotten a lot of money for that. Lol.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I don't often use my PS3, I'm probably gonna sell it. Its already been modded with Rebug CFW.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:

  • ZeroT21 @ ZeroT21:

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Usually the Pokemon GBA games go for a lot, roughly 40-80 £.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @AncientBoi, PS3 was £45.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
For that same model 40GB, you're paying £55 in today.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
