Hi All,

I've got myself a V1 switch which i used to use TX on (Before they stopped). I still have the TX USB dongle and also the jig. Can I use the USB dongle for atmosphere or is it deprecated now and cant be used?

OK, ive been out of it for a while. Stupid question but just to confirm, The payload is on the SX dongle? That payload file needs converting so that it works with the atmosphere boot.dat file which will go on my micro usb?

The dongle use boot.dat format payload, so you need to convert fusee.bin to boot.dat in order to use it.

Sorry about this. Can anyone give me some help here.

I have the Team Xecute dongle which and jig which looks like this.

I also have a blank MicroSD card. I dont have any of the TX firmware files or anything like that.

From what I can understand I need to alter the file that lives on the TX dongle? Then copy some files to my SD card?

Ok. Is it possible for someone to step by step through this with me please? I've done the following so far and I keep getting the "Boot.dat?" red error. I'm guessing its not giving me a boot.dat that works fine.

1. Installed Python 3
2. Gone to this link and downloaded all the contents
https://github.com/ELY3M/sx-custom-boot.dat-maker
3. It says i should then be able to run
"in cmd line, just run python build_boot.dat.py fusee-primary.bin"

This isn't working. So i click the "build_boot.dat_hekate.py" and it does generate a file. This is what appears to be the wrong boot.dat file.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can use the "Official" way:

https://rentry.org/mys8q

Download https://web.archive.org/web/20210217231219/https://sx.xecuter.com/download/SX_Gear_v1.1.zip, extract it to the sd card root.
From the original Hekate package extrac hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x.bin and copy to sd card root as payload.bin

That's all, the new boot.dat will load any file called "payload.bin" on the sd card root.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
