Hello everyone!
I´m looking for a way to delete the Microsoft Edge Browser from my PC.
I´m a Firefox user and dislike that Microsoft forces their Browser on Windows 10.
Could someone please recommend me a safe way to delete/deinstall it from the system?

Edit:
@D34DL1N3R Thanks for the Power Shell cue. I got a tutorial here.

This Guy advises to set a default brower.
I take your advise and leave Microsoft Edge as it is.

Why not just leave it and not use it? Seems simple. I mean, you're upset that there's a MS browser in an MS operating system? Haha. What are you going to do about all of the other things MS forces in their own OS? There's lot's of other apps, services, etc. Uninstall the entire OS? Not to mention, the new Chromium based Edge is actually a really good browser. That's coming from someone who currently uses, and has used Firefox for as long as I can remember.

Edit: Uninstalling it can also cause problems with other Windows apps/services. I'd recommend just leaving it. But if you insist, Google is your friend. Hint: PowerShell commands.

Hello. 1111smiley_emoticons_seb_zylinder.gif

Thanks for your reply! I´m going to leave Windows Edge as it is for now.
The Browser is deeply rooted into the Windows system.
Deleting might cause more issues with later system updates...

That is a very wise and good Choice,my Friend.:)
If I detect some "strange" Behavior,I will let you know.

Thank you.:)

I would just leave it in case something doesn't work with whatever browser you are using. it will at least ensure you whether something is wrong with your current browser (i.e. a plugin compatibility issue for example).

I've noticed Firefox using 3GB of ram and spiking up to 45% CPU usage, lots of slow page loading, and freezing on certain pages with ONE single tab open, ever since Firefox 82. I HAVE to use Edge (don't have Chrome installed) for certain pages because FF hangs with an unresponsive message then crashes. Not sure whats going on. I've tried a completely clean install with zero extensions and it still happens on Firefox 82.

This is maybe because of that great TAB Feature,it opens Firefox multiple Times.

You can reduce it to one (in the Settings or in the "about:config" Settings),the Browser will be not really "slower" then...except you have 257 Tabs/Firefox Windows opened..:D

Thank you.:)

Except that "feature" was added long before Firefox 82, and I've had no problems until 82 that was released towards the end of October. 82, 82.0.1, 82.0.2, and 82.0.3 all have this same problem for me. Had no problems before so it has to be something that JUST changed in the 82 builds. :)

If you want to get rid of the Edge virus you can always try Windows 10-LTSB, it's like Windows but doesn't suck or decide it needs to stick it's finger in your ass at 3am and root around, you can also remove edge from traditional versions of windows with slipstream installs.
