Hacking How do you label your micro SD cards?

Yeah, what a stupid question. But really, how do you actually label your micro SD cards? The things are so damn small, their clearance in their readers don't allow you to use labels and to top it off, all of mine are black!

I've got dozens of Compact Flash, Secure Digital and Memory Stick meda that I've collected over the years for various devices. They all have Brother P-Touch labels that work great. They're durable, easy to read and to make the proper size to fit.

I even label our GBA carts (yeah, have your kid lose a couple of Pokemon carts and see how long before you start engraving their name on 'em!).

But these microSD cards have me stumped. The P-Touch labels are too thick and since the package is black even an ultra-fine point Sharpie pen won't cut it. I've used silver Sharpies on VHS tapes in the past, but I've only seen them in fine point (that's really not fine enough for a microSD card) and the ink is more like a paint that never seems to dry and rubs off or smears easily.

So I give up... What do you use?

I don't label the actual cards, I label the plastic cases they come in. I just make sure to put the right cards in the right cases. If I ever mix them up, I check their volume label on the computer.

well each MicroSD came with a MMC adapter...i just lable the adapter and use it as a case for my MicroSD.

I only have two 2 gigs, so it's not too hard to keep track of them without labeling.

i use my papertape whiteout thing and write on it

Great ideas. I honestly wasn't thinking that simple. Since those things are so damn small, you have to keep them in their case or they're gonna get lost for sure.

Well, in the past couple months since getting an R4, I've gone microSD crazy! You can thank Woot and techbargains for that. I've been getting SanDisk, Kingston and now Lexar 2GB microSD's for less than $25 each. The latest, the Lexar's, for $17.99 after rebate with free shipping!

Now my son has his own microSD card to use with the R4 with his games and saves, not to mention his Chocobo Tales theme.

With these things fueling the R4, my SanDisk Sansa e250 (x2) and soon to be cellphones, they're starting to pile up.

P.S. - While swapping cards yesterday I dropped one and it fell onto the keyboard. It landed on edge between the keys and nearly slid down beneath them. Only some ginger handling kept it from forcing a major keyboard teardown! Be warned.

ya..i notice, i'm kindda depend on MicroSD as well...

my R4DS and my phone, both use MicroSD...i'm plan to get a 4GB MicroSB soon...(for my phone)

err, I used to color them with a permanent pen, but their not so permanent after you constantly copy files over.

I label the boxes (little white clear cases) the microSD cards are in.

I use MicroSD on my SCONE, my SLVR and my n95, I have about 5 in total. I live by a shop that sells them real cheap.
