How do they remove your teeth?

I've had teeth pulled out and it doesn't hurt at all. They usually put something on your gums to numb them a bit. Then they inject the stuff into you gums. That's the only part you feel and it's just like a little pinch at the gums for a second. After that they get these plier like things and pull it out. This part is usually wierd because you can sometimes hear a big crunch when they pull it out it's kinda gross but cool. Then at the end you get to keep the tooth!

but it kinda depends on your dentist. Some of them can be a bastard and throw it away.

I have an azn dentist... one time they were about to pull one of my pre-molars out and it was about to fall of already. i was crying since i was so scared of needles, and then they finally gave up and never pulled it out. instead, it fell out, so yeah.

all i know is that i have some teeth that need to be removed on both my upper and lower jaw. it would be nice if they could put me to sleep, since i got a lotta teeth to take it ;D. Except, i think that would be a waste... and would also be expensive. my parents would also think it would be pointless, so yeah.

when they were about to pull one of my teeth out, the anesthetics was about 3/4 of a pencil and was about the size of a syringe [the one that comes with those do it yourself ink kits]. i would hate to hear that crunching noise, it would creep me out. i would though, listen to my music if allowed, but then, things could be happening randomly, which would just scare me more.

so lets see now... after counting the number of teeth i still have that should be removed, i have more than 5:
- 2 pre-molars in my upper jaw
- 2 molars in my upper jaw
- 2/3 pre-molars in my lower jaw
- 2 molars in my lower jaw

for some reason, none of my molars ever fell out by itself =[
my teeth are really... strong. hopefully, the whole tooth will come off, and if it doesn't they'll be cutting my gums open T_T.

Last experience for me was the dentist used a tool that jars the tooth lose by pressing against it to loosen it, then uses a tool to grip it and pull it out.

Not normally pleasant. Just because you can't feel the tooth, doesn't mean your imagination is unwilling to make shit up.

When the freezing wears off, be ready to take some form of decent pain killer, because the freezing only stops the extraction being painful. Oh and stock up on food with zero grit in it, cause pudding is all you is going to fee like eating for a week. Your gum will take a while to firm up.

I've lived a long life with missing teeth. The odd part is you can have 'sore' teeth that haven't existed for years. And you can't fix something that isn't there

Had to have three removed a few years back. One had gotten infected. Complicated by the fact they had partially fallen apart. Meant I had to be put under with knock out gas. Highly recommend it if you are nervous. I woke up later and have no recollection of anything happening. My son uses this process.

They set a small C4 charge to your gum line. After retreating a safe distance away, they detonate the charge. No more toothache.

Seriously, they just numb you with an anesthetic administered via a needle. Then they grasp the tooth with a plier like tool and yank it out.

I had 2 teeth removed last month because they were baby teeth that grew on top of the molars, what they did to me was put a needle that I barely felt on each side then pull the 2 tooths out which I didn't even feel and then I had to hold a cotton thing in my mouth for the next 2 hours to stop the bleeding. The worst part about it if you try to talk before the numbing wears off you look and talk like a retard but it wears off by the next day.

Oh and about the C4 they told me that I couldn't do that unless I had more than 5 teeth that needed to be removed

Luckily I have extremely strong teeth lol. I only had cavities and all that other stuff when I was a little kid.

My big brother, contrarily, has had about six root canals already.

It doesn't hurt much to be honest, i remember i had to have 4 teeth removed and for each tooth there were 2 injections (of course i didn't do them all at once)

I have a hereditary condition which caused my family's teeth to decay really quick even with proper hygiene. When I went to the dentist, he suggested I get them all pulled or pay $1,000 per tooth to be fixed. So he referred me to an oral surgeon. This was November 2007 (i was 24 at the time

. The first thing they did was stuck these cotton swabs with long wooden handles in my mouth with a local anesthetic. After that, they put me to sleep through an IV. I remember almost waking up, heard the drill going at one of my back molars. That was a rough experience. Didn't get my dentures until the following May after all the molds and things were made.

Like everyone is saying, the numb you with an injection, that part only pinches a little, but they'll probably dribble a little and it tastes awful. Then, they just yank the tooth out. That might take a little time, depending on how easily the tooth comes out, it might break, it might not, it doesn't really matter by that point, you wont feel anything. You probably wont feel much for a while after either, eventually though the numbness will wear off and your mouth will probably ache a little, or a lot, depending on your pain threshold.
With me, they stuffed some weird crap in the hole that was left, apparently to speed up the healing. That stayed for about ten days or so, then fell out when the hole closed up.


Nothing to worry about.
