Ive heard of ftp but im not sure what that is. Could someone tell me what is it? And whats the fastest way of transfering games?
Im on 3.55CFW Geohot.

(What if it asks me to update the game when I play it on my ps3, what do i do then?)

Firstly, if you're on ANY custom firmware, don't access the Playstation at all. Hope you enjoy single player offline. Anyway, get yourself BlackB0xFTP for PS3 (Google is your friend) and FileZilla for your PC. Install both on their respected platforms. Then run BlackB0xFTP on your PS3. (Internet connection should be on, but do NOT try to sign into your PSN account.) BlackB0x will show you your PS3's IP address. In FileZilla, enter that address into the server box and hit connect. The navigate the file structure to the folder your game should be in for the backup manager you use. (Usually GAMES or GAMEZ.) The just drag and drop the game there. It'll take a LONG time, and might not always work, but that's the basics. If you can't get this to work, go out and rent the game from a local store, then rip it yourself.

Find any FTP server for your PS3 and install it. Afterwards, get an FTP client(I use WinSCP personally and you should too when following this) and enter your PS3's IP Address. It's can be shown to you depending on the FTP server you use. If it doesn't, go to Settings > Network Settings > Settings and Connection Status List. Look through the list and one of them will tell you what your IP Address is. Now, open up your FTP client and enter the IP Address as 'Host Name', 'root' as username, and 'openbox' should be the password. Now, press Login. If it gives you an error dialog screen after having a white box for a bit, try changing the port. 21 works for me. As MarcusRaven said, navigate to the folder your game is in and drag and drop it somewhere on your computer.

Ftp stands for File Transfer Protocol
The fastest way (and perhaps the only way) is to use a ftp server and transfer it(other people posted how to).

(What if it asks me to update the game when I play it on my ps3, what do i do then?)
Google a fix/update for the game.
Place it onto the ps3's hard drive in the correct place.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
