I'm on 3.60 with HENkaku. I haven't used my Vita in more than a month, mainly b/c I only had a 8gb memory card which I was able to get around 3 games. So I'm not update with what's new in the Vita science. I just recently purchased a 32gb card.

How do I switch cards without losing HENkaku? Will my firmware be affected? I only have 3 games so I really don't care about re-installing them. I just want to use the new card. Also, is there any use for the 8gb card or should I just sell it?

    Thanks :)

Why don't you just insert the new card and reinstall henkakau by visiting the henkaku website? The vita card is a proprietary format so there's not much use after you upgrade it so selling it makes sense.

I had a really hard time switching to a new memory card just the other day. So I'll tell you what I did to hopefully save you some trouble. First you will need qcma on your PC. Then connect your vita to it and go to content manager to do a backup. Now, some files, such as roms for emulators, will NOT be transferred. I found this out the hard way. So you'll have to use filezilla to transfer all of your roms and saves (emulators) to another folder on your PC. Now shut off your vita and put the new memory card in. Turn the vita back on. You will lose henkaku temporarily when you do this. Don't worry. You can easily reinstall it. After you reinstall henkaku, connect the vita to your PC again using qcma. Go to content manager restore your backup. After that go back into filezilla and transfer your emulator roms and saves back over. That should be it.

Well the op only care about whether his firmware will be affected by getting a new card, he doesn't care about reinstalling his games or lost saved games, so all he need is to visit the henkaku website to reinstall henkaku

So all I do is put the new memory card in, goto HENkaku and install? That's it?

Should I be installing Tiahen now? I haven't used the vita in awhile so I have no idea what's new and what I should be using these days.

The latest release of Taihen has now been deemed a bit more stable over the original Henkaku build, Yifan_lu himself recommends using it over the original Henkaku so you can just switch to taihen now.

Ok so all I need to do is to swap memory cards and just install Taihen and I'm good to go? I'm not worried about any games or anything.

What about my PSP demos? I've backed them up. If I insert a new memory card will QCMA be able to transfer them?

Thanks! I guess that makes the choice between a 3DS and a memory card easier

This is purely preference and as Tom said, Yifan does suggest Taihen. I did have an issue with Taihen though. I'm not sure if it was just me or if others had it also. I can't get VitaOrganizer to connect to my Vita with Taihen, I have to use Henkaku. If you don't use VitaOrganizer then you're probably fine with Taihen. What I do is use Henkaku to install my games with VitaOrganizer then switch over to Taihen.
